Fallen Face

The procees of folding flowy textures, such as hair or water, is a freeing and meditative one. The creases drift gently out to the edges of the paper, and I feel more like I’m following a current than making many individual folding decisions. I greatly value giving my pieces movement and energy, and what better a subject for that than a waterfall? Though, a waterfall with a face, of course.

“In this waterfall face, no particular water droplet is associated with a specific part of the face. Just like in a wave, the face is an energy pattern rather than a stable arrangement of water molecules.” - Ed Awh
