The inspiration for this piece was “abstract, emphasized facial features, and flowing hair”. I began with the folds radiating from the eyes, which quickly combined with the hair to flow together in one sheet. I folded the facial features with some asymmetry, and I added a neck (I believe for the first time), which added a bit more context to the whole piece.
I folded this for Steven Chang (@gringochino94), who made me a beautiful maple shadow box in return! I’m working on a design specifically to fit in this box, so stand by for that! It was an honor and a pleasure to exchange art like this.
